Profile Background

Ryan E. Alekman is a third-generation trial lawyer, who for years has worked in personal injury law and criminal defense.

Ryan grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, where his mother maintained a satellite law office in the home.  Starting in high school, he began assisting her in various areas of the law.

Thereafter, Ryan attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and spent his junior year studying in Sevilla, Spain, where he met his wife who was studying in the same program.  After graduating UMass in 1993, he worked for a year for two personal injury law firms in Boston, where he focused on pre-litigation (mostly PIP) issues.  While attending Western New England Law School, he continued assisting his mother in her personal injury cases.

In 1997, Ryan graduated law school and began his own practice immediately, with the assistance of lawyers who mentored him.  As a Spanish-speaking attorney in Springfield, his practice quickly grew.  Through his representation of thousands of people injured in car accidents, he has developed a knowledge of PIP issues that has made him a resource for other lawyers across Massachusetts.  A longtime member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA), Ryan was elected (and since re-elected annually) by his peers to the Board of Governors.

How I Serve Clients

I’ve been involved in serving clients in personal injury matters for most of my life.  I was fortunate to come from a family of lawyers, who provided the discipline, values, work ethic, and empathy needed to serve clients well.

At points in my life I have been injured in car accidents and participating in sports, and have been treated for those injuries.  While those times were difficult, I believe they have made me a better advocate for my clients because I understand how living with pain can affect many aspects of life. I strive to take the time to learn how each client has been affected by their injuries to enable me to better represent their interests when talking with insurance adjusters.

Practicing law is a noble profession.  I am grateful every day for the trust and confidence that clients place in me and our firm when we are retained.

My practice is dedicated to seeking full and fair compensation for injury clients and the families who have lost a loved one.  Clients expect – and deserve – honesty, integrity, and dedication, and an attorney who will at all times put a client’s interest first.

At our firm, we fight against insurance companies and their claims adjustors who typically try to get away with wholly-inadequate settlement offers. If you or a family member has been injured, I would invite you to call me today for a free consultation to learn how we can help you.

What I Do in My Spare Time

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends in a variety of activities.  I enjoy traveling, taking wildlife photos, skiing, fishing, and golfing.

Media Appearances

Ryan has appeared on WWLP (NBC Springfield), WGGB (ABC Springfield), Telemundo, WFCR (National Public Radio Western Massachusetts), and in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, The Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Republican Newspaper, and The Daily Hampshire Gazette.

Client Review 5 gold stars

I’m grateful to Ryan Alekman and the team at Alekman DiTusa for their hard work on my case. They persevered through all the obstacles and fought to get me the most they could from the insurance companies through negotiations.
