Profile Background

Attorney Lee Dawn Daniel is a highly skilled litigator with over 35 years of experience representing the injured in matters of personal injury and medical negligence.  Lee has secured multiple million-dollar-plus settlements and verdicts throughout her distinguished career, including a Top Ten Verdict in the Commonwealth for a top seven-figure jury trial verdict.

She has successfully settled over a thousand cases, engaged in the trial of over 60 multi-day or multi-week cases to verdict, arbitrated and mediated dozens of cases, and has obtained million dollar plus verdicts in three of the four Western Massachusetts counties in automobile and medical negligence claims. Additionally, Lee has also achieved seven–figure settlements for Eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire clients in a variety of cases without reaching the courtroom, and has also successfully tried contract and bad faith claims.

Lee has been a frequent presenter at professional development events for the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA) and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc. (MCLE) for almost 20 years, instructing other attorneys on topics such as evidence, case evaluation and presentation, automobile claims, liens, depositions and discovery procedures, and trial tactics and techniques. Some of her strategies have also been a topic of instruction at the Western New England School of Law.

Lee has been a Governor of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, and currently serves as an Executive Committee Member and President-Elect, of that organization which has approximately 1000 attorneys as members. She is a graduate of the Boston University School of Law (1985) and the State University of New York at Binghamton (1981) with Honors.

Lee is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York and Pennsylvania, as well as the Federal District Court of Connecticut and the U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals.  Because of her extensive experience in handling serious injury and death claims, Lee has been granted special status to litigate cases in other state and federal courts from New Hampshire to Florida.

Lee began working at the age of 14 and financed her undergraduate and law school education by working throughout her school years. With a college background in the biological sciences, as well as a varied work history including work with the New York State Department of Social Services, the Big Brother/Big Sister Program, newspaper delivery, and farm labor, Lee believes that her broad background has helped her successfully work on behalf of the injured for over thirty years. After having her own firm for many years, most recently Daniel and Fontaine, LLC. Lee is now proudly Of Counsel at Alekman DiTusa, LLC.

How I Serve Clients

I bring to each and every case more than 30 years of personal injury experience, not only in successfully obtaining full compensation for clients in settlement negotiations, but also in trial.

In my experience, having successful trial experience is critical. Most people might find it surprising to learn that many personal injury attorneys rarely, if ever, take a case to trial. This applies even for attorneys who may have years of experience.

This is not the case with me or the lawyers at this firm.

I have tried numerous injury cases before juries, and have obtained a number of multi-million dollar verdicts on behalf of clients.  While no lawyer can ever make a promise of a successful outcome, the fact that I (and this firm) have significant trial experience is helpful, we believe, in settlement negotiations, as opposing counsel and insurance companies know that we will not hesitate to take a case to trial.

If you’ve been injured, or if a family member has died, we have the experience, tenacity, and dedication needed.  I would invite to call our firm to learn more about how we can help.
